Rashford Penalty Enough As Manchester United Beat Leicester


Marcus Rashford scored a first-half penalty as Manchester United beat Leicester City 1-0 in the Premier League fixtures at Old Trafford on Saturday evening.

The Red Devils claimed only their second win of the season to end Foxes unbeaten start comes to an end after Turkey defender Caglar Soyuncu creating their own problem with the early penalty, given away by fouling England international.However, Rashford sending Kasper Schmeichel the wrong way from the subsequent spot-kick eight minutes into the encounter, despite losing Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial and Luke Shaw to injuries, Manchester United showed no sign of missing their big stars as Daniel James continued to lead the team’s attack.  Ole Gunnar Solskjær side could have extended their lead in the 25th and 40th minute but Rashford failed to convert his goal begging chances but the home team could have been punished by Jamie Vardy as his low shot went wide the post despite finding himself in a goalscoring position.Rashford went close to adding a second in the final 10 minutes but his free-kick clattered into the top corner of the woodwork.Leicester had their chances, but it was a dogged performance from the host and a very, very welcome win as they move into fourth, while Brenda Rogers drop to fifth.
